Mom’s Post #1: September 14 Hello all! This is my first time posting for Layne, so if things are not as tidy as she would have them, my apologies. I’m counting on her to ‘fix’ things next time she is able to log on. This first post is the same as I had posted on […]
We knew that we would likely spend all day at the London Zoo and we were right! The zoo is massive and there is so much to see. We saw more species of monkeys today than I have ever seen in my life and they have so many walk-through exhibits where the animals are roaming free and can interact with you.
Yesterday afternoon I made a comment about how jetlag hadn’t even been that bad and I wasn’t that tired. Well, I jinxed us. Around 11:30 this morning we woke up after going to bed just shy of 1 AM. Guess we needed a few extra hours of sleep to recover from the minimal airplane sleep and airport slumber!
I know that for the #SASTRAVELOATH, I vowed to be a traveler and NOT a tourist, but since we’re only in London for a few days and I’ve never been we are doing some pretty “touristy” things while we’re here. We had a full day of adventures and I have a feeling the next two are going to fly by as well!
We made it to London! It’s been a long and exciting couple of days as Nathan and I made our way across the ocean. We left my house at 5:30 AM Tuesday in route to Minneapolis. The drive went quickly, we had little trouble in traffic, and security didn’t take long at the airport!
In two sleeps I will leave for the greatest adventure any college student can ask for.
I, Layne, am embarking on a journey around the world. I want to explore the globe and put meaning to names on a map. Wake up in a different country every week. And explore with my own two feet. Get lost in foreign cultures and find myself. Make the world my classroom and its people my teachers. I want to sail into new waters and make waves while doing it. Lose sight of the shore. Be a traveler not a tourist.
Emily and I have known each other her entire life! She’s my uncle’s niece and and one of the sweetest young ladies I have ever known. I have some great memories of her when she was young and I can’t believe she’s a senior already!
LeAnne’s family has a gorgeous property and we had so much fun exploring different locations on their land. From the rustic barn + her horse to the golden sunlight + fields, I couldn’t have asked for a more diverse location to shoot in!
This is what I dream of. Photos that empower the bold + beautiful – inside and out. Directed towards girls who are sophisticated, yet free-spirited and march to their own beat. Maybe Cheyenne and I have stayed best friends for so long because she encompasses all I believe young women should be.
Prior to my session with Maddy, her mom had told me that she LOVED my photos of my girls in their prom dresses in the country. Maddy’s request: her stunning Tony Bowls gown on a dirt road. And that’s just what we did!
