Eric + Kat | Maple Lake Engagement Session

August 31, 2018

I have officially entered a season of life where I feel “old”! I knew this day would come and it doesn’t seem possible that all of my friends are getting married. Shouldn’t we still be in high school?!

Kat and I met seven years ago at Governor’s School and it doesn’t seem possible that she’s now engaged! At Gov School, Kat and I bonded over my love for photography and her love for, well, everything else artsy! Truthfully, the only area I really succeeded in was photography … the rest was a little rough. Kat is an amazing artist and the best, best friend a girl could ask for. We attended colleges on different sides of the state and became accustomed to long-distance friendship until a couple of years ago when we finally decided we should live together before one of us got married.

Living with my best friend was such a blessing during one of the hardest years of my life. Losing my Great-Grandpa was so, so hard on me but I was thankful to go home to a fantastic roomie who always knew when I needed a brownie brittle and ice cream kind of night. 😉

As you can imagine, I’ve gotten to spend a lot of time with Eric over the (almost) five years he and Kat have been together, and I can’t think of a better man for her. Eric, you are so loving and kind and patient and exactly what Kat needs. It has been so fun to be along for the ride as the two of you have navigated the last few years. I am so grateful that I’m the one who has the privilege of capturing this special season of your life.

I love you both and cannot wait to celebrate next year!
