My love for North Dakota is no secret. I talk about the dreamy light, open prairies and watercolor sunsets ALL.THE.TIME. 😉 I’ve been all over the world, but there’s just something about finding the perfect location at home that can’t be beat. Every time I leave to explore a new place, I always come back with an appreciation for where I live.

This summer I’ve traveled all over North Dakota to shoot and discovered so many great spots to shoot! I love it when my clients come to me with ideas for new shoot locations that are special to them or just places that they enjoy being at or think have good photoshoot potential. 🙂

When Carley booked her senior session with me, she asked if we could shoot somewhere with lots of flowers, so I suggested a greenhouse and Carley and her mom, Cindy, went over and checked out Plant Perfect in Bismarck, which turned out to be the perfect (pun intended) place to shoot! Since it’s getting later in the summer, I wasn’t sure what the flower selection would be like this time of year but the mixture of wildflowers they had was great for the look and feel Carley wanted for her session.

After our time at Plant Perfect, we headed out of town to a great natural location that I love and finished out her shoot with the most amazing light and, of course, a North Dakota sunset. 

Carley, you are beautiful in every way, and I had the best time on your shoot! You’re an absolute dream to work with. I hope you love your photos as much as I do! 🙂
